It makes me think the developers are unaware or disinterested in fixing the glaring balance issues. If Pet builds are already so far in front of other builds, what do you think 20%+ critical hit chance and invulnerability are going to do to them? How is anything meant to compete with permanent meat shields that deal multiple times the damage of a single character? I care about progressing in greater rifts, and it's obvious that Pet builds are going to dominate the hell out of them (both in survivability and damage).I'm not an emotionless robot, so seeing my favorite underpowered spec (channeled spells) getting nerfed into the ground while extremely powerful pet specs get buff after buff is depressing. Why do I care about game balance? Well there's plenty of reasons: I actually enjoy discussing Diablo's game design more than playing the game at this point. It is sure fun watching people bitch about a game all day on forums that noone is forcing them to play.

Suppose you find this gem as a Monk - it's (almost) completely useless to you! Every other gem can be used equally by all classes and builds, with only the two primary/resource gems requiring any change to your build. It's one of the few gems that ONLY works for 1 build. If they had spent time making a gem that only buffed weak builds (such as channeling: rapid fire DH, cloud of bats WD, disintegrate Wiz, whirlwind barb, tempest rush monk, etc) I think a lot more people would be happier due to the increased build diversity.Īnd this is the ONLY build that will get a boost from using a gem? Obviously not, but it's one of the first ones they decided to spend time implementing, and it only buffs two very powerful builds.
